Our Designing Process

In taking the first step towards working with an Interior Designer, it is a given that one is interested in having a beautiful place to live. I like to work closely with my clients and want to know what is most important to them- is it the light, a color story, or a particular look? All of these things are important factors, but it is paramount that the process is collaborative and enjoyable! WE are decorating YOUR home, this is exciting, and should never be intimidating, it should be as much FUN as possible!

The Process is Not Rocket Science…

              1  ENVISION

We start with an initial meeting in your home, at your convenience. You share the scope of your project and the details of your needs- what’s most important to you and your family in terms of form, function, and design. However prior to the meeting I give you some fun homework to do! You collect visual references- whether its from Pintrest, Houzz, Remodelista, magazines, art, landscapes images, whatever excites you! (I also want to know what you DON’T like, so images of those things can also be included.) You then share all your visual inspiration with me and we brainstorm together. We’ll tour your home and we’ll come up with a plan to best implement your vision. Before the meeting is over, you’ll not only share your goals, dreams, wishes, and priorities, but also timeframes and budget parameters.

              2  CREATE

A floor plan is created- I gather ideas and images of rugs, color samples, fabric swatches, wallpaper samples, furniture options, ideas for artwork, window treatments, whatever is needed to fulfill your vision. Together we make  choices that would work best to create that ultimate look that you have in your mind’s eye. Some revisions to these plans might take place after this meeting, but beyond that we move forward to the most exciting step.

              3  DESIGN & TRANSFORM

I work to execute all of our plans with the best tradespeople, architects, contractors, and galleries out there. I do my utmost to stick to timetables set by you, the client, and adhere to the budget to the best of my ability. In the end you will have a beautiful, and comfortable home that you and your family will enjoy for years to come.
